It's Bath Time

Why does it always seem that the first bath is so sad. We gave Eli his first bath on Thursday night, he did well until we toke off his clothes. So we scrubbed him down and gave him a good lather of lotion, and ended it off with a nice warm towel and a good binky! Maybe next time we will put a little product in his hair to see what it will do.

Second Day

So our second day was great! I had a great nights sleep (thanks to a little pill named Ambien.) Coy got the kids off to school and headed to the hospital. We had a good day of relaxation and getting to know little Eli. He is such a great baby, very easy going and we love to just sit and look at him and play with his hair. I had some great friends come and visit and bring me lunch, which was offered to Coy but be opted to eat the meatloaf lunch from the hospital. Cami, Grandma, Ellie and Ashton also stopped in. Ellie was excited to be able to hold Eli all by herself, she kept saying how cute and tiny Eli was. Ellie practiced writing his name and made him a sign for his bed.

The kids were able to come over after school and that is when I was bumped out of my bed and the remote to the T.V. was quickly taken over and the show was now a "kids show". It was fun to see how Kenzie quickly washed her hands and grabbed Eli, you will see in the pictures that it was very natural for Kenzie to prop Eli up on her lap as she was watching T.V. The day ended great with another visit from friends and the magic little pill

Eli McAffee

Meet the newest member of the McAffee family, Eli McAffee born 2-17-09
at 12pm. Weighing in at 6lbs 14 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. Eli tried to come into this world on Monday but it wasn't going to happen. So after an hour in the hospital the nurses sent us home and told us to go walk around Walmart. We decided to go get Chinese food and get the kids in bed and watch some T.V. and get a good nights rest. We called the hospital the next morning and we arrived about 7:20 am.
It was a little noisy in the hospital, for some reason there was jack-hammering going on it seems next door, and then the flood came. I flushed the toilet in the room and it was a fountain, water all over the floor. The best part was the nurse had left to check on someone else and Coy had left to grab a bit of food. I paged the nurses station and they came in to find water all the way into the room. So why I was getting my epidural the janitors where rebuilding the toilet. All went well, Eli would have been born 15 min earlier for we were waiting patiently for Dr. Later to come so we just made small chat until he arrived.

LOST TOOTH!

Kenzie has been working on a wiggly tooth for a couple days, even at school. If you lose a tooth at school you get a special tooth box to put it in, so she really wanted to lose it at school. So Riley had a Orthodontist appointment the other day to get his retainer and Mackenzie had not been successful at pulling her tooth. While at the Orthodontist she was showing Dr. Hill her wiggly tooth. He offered to help that tooth out, Mackenzie was a little worried how he would "help" her tooth out. He told her to take a seat and he would take a look. It only took a second and her tooth was out! Dr .Hill asked her "do you have any other teeth that are loose?" She said not that loose!

BEFORE AND AFTER

Riley has been in the process of braces since July and he went today and got them off! YEAH! No more worries of seeing gross yucky food stuck in his braces. He goes back tomorrow to get a retainer that he wears at night. The reason for typing in this wonderful color of green is to show you the color he picked out for his retainer! Now you will experience what we will see at night!

Gotta Love The Super Bowl

We had a small gathering for the Super Bowl yesterday, now don't get me wrong it's not about the game it's all about the food and the people. It was fun and we had yummy french dip sandwiches and frog eyed salad and the best excellent dessert ever!

The kids were excited about the commercial right after the 2nd quarter, it was in 3D, hence the picture with the 3 kids with the funny glasses on. It was a big hit, Ellie put her glasses on first and said "watch what happens to the lamp when I put my glasses on." She thought everyone saw what she was seeing. It was fun and we can't wait for next year!
